At the heart of our work lies Nila Studio, housed within an open workshop space. The Studio includes skilled researchers, strategists, designers, tailors, pattern-cutters and embroiderers. Sampling, research, community training and craft innovations are carried out here by these craftsmen and creatives, who form the pillars of Nila’s creative work.
Collaboration and knowledge exchange are key to progress. Nila Studio works alongside artisan workshops, biologists, researchers and farmers across India to create our research documentation and collections.
We maintain and nourish a close relationship of mutual learning with artisan communities. This is a privileged association which allows us to learn, innovate at the source, and document the highest levels of craft for future generations.
