Our textiles archive hopes to establish a network between talented artisans in remote weaving clusters and visitors to Nila House, including academics, enthusiasts and designers. The archive showcases naturally dyed and untreated handloom textile in a variety of weights from across India, with a strong focus on khadi. The handspun and handwoven cloth, with its cultural and environmental significance, is the embodiment of everything that Nila aspires to revive and preserve.
All visitors are invited to visit our archive space and learn through a tactile experience, with full access to Nila’s comprehensive sample books. Yardage is available to purchase from the Nila Vault, although we do encourage direct connections with weavers.
